“Indian graduates will have plenty of job opportunities globally. They have garnered huge respect worldwide in various fields. The number of people going abroad will only increase in the coming years,” said Ajay Piramal, chairman, Piramal Group and Shriram Group, on the sidelines of the 13th convocation of the Great Lakes Institute of Management here, on Wednesday.
While distributing certificates and medals to meritorious students, he said they should possess deep desire, passion and courage to do what one really likes. “With untiring efforts, good values, association with good people and above all having faith are the real reasons for success,” Mr. Piramal said.
Over 600 students across full-time and executive programmes were honoured, and gold medals were awarded to five academic toppers and seven best outgoing students across different programmes. Delivering the graduation address, John F.O. Bilson, dean, Stuart School of Business, IIT Chicago, said, “People must understand that technology only creates more job opportunities and one should not be afraid to embrace it.”
Bala V. Balachandran, founder, dean & chairman, Great Lakes Institute of Management, emphasised the importance of the revival of higher education in India.
